MyHome Avatar’s Priest – Bharat Swami

My name is T N Yoga Nasimha, also known as Bharat Swamy.

I was born and brought up in Mysore, a place known for its rich culture and heritage. Like my ancestors, who have been following the path of priesthood, I too developed a deep inclination towards serving God from a young age. I always felt that this is what I am meant to do.

My Journey:

After completing my studies in Krishna Yajurveda, I moved to Hyderabad to work at the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills. However, my family’s expectations for me were to have a good job, and I decided to apply for a job at Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam. Out of the 372 applicants, I was lucky enough to be selected as one of the eight candidates for the job. The joining order was for Tirchanur Padmavati Temple, and I set out on this new journey.

From Tirupati, I traveled to Chennai, Rishikesh, Kanyakumari, and back to Hyderabad, where I started my career. I got married during this period, and it was time for us to start a family. Unfortunately, this was also around the time when the first COVID lockdown hit, and the world was in a state of chaos.

While my career was taking me on a journey across India, fate had a different plan for me. I was approached by the MyHome group to perform temple pooja on their premises. Initially, it was just a one-time request, but later, I was offered a permanent position to serve as the priest for Bhuvara Swami at the MyHome Avatar Temple.

My Inspiration:

I found my inspiration for priesthood within my family, where every member followed this noble profession. We have our own temple back at home in Melkote near Mysore, where everyone in the family was required to serve for six months. It was a tradition that we have been following for generations.

My Family:

My wife has been my anchor, and her pursuit of a hospital management course at the Apollo Hospital has kept me stable in Hyderabad. I have two sons – one in lower KG and the other just a year old.

I have two sons, and people often ask me what I want them to become. But I don’t want to influence them in any way; it will be their wish to decide what they want to do with their lives. I just want them to be happy and content in whatever they choose to do.

Why Priest?:

Many have asked me if I ever thought about becoming an engineer, doctor, or anything else, considering my friends are in those professions. But for me, serving the Lord has been a unique and fulfilling job profile, and I am happy doing what I do. I feel blessed to be so close to God and to be able to help people through their difficult times.

My experience:

As a priest, I have had the opportunity to witness many miracles and help people in need.

One particular instance that stands out to me is the story of a man who came to the MyHome Avatar temple with his 7-year-old son. The boy had been diagnosed with cancer, and the doctors were not able to provide the necessary treatment due to his weak health. The man was crying and seemed lost, so I approached him and asked him about his troubles. I assured him that the temple he was in was one of the four unique temples in India and that his troubles would be solved if he prayed with a whole heart. I referred him to one of the pandits who could perform Arun Parayan, a rare and powerful ritual that involves reciting the Arun Parayan while performing Surya Namaskar.

The ritual requires doing 236 parikramas on one leg, followed by a Sashtang Namaskar on one leg, for seven hours. It took us over 45 days to make an appointment, but we finally succeeded. The holy water offered during the Arun Parayan was served to the cancer-affected child, and miraculously, the child recovered. Doctors were shocked, and the Arun Parayan process continued for the child for three years, and the child is now healthy.

My request:

MyHome Avatar Temple is one of the four unique temples across India, and many people from far places want to come and visit the temple. I want to request the MyHome management and MyHome Avatar Management Committee to allow such devotees, as God is for all. A lot of people have added their reviews about not being allowed to visit the temple.

My advice:

My message to everyone is simple: don’t worry about what you did yesterday. Focus on doing good deeds today and in the future. Once you’re on the path toward good, God will take care of your past. So keep the faith, and keep doing good.
