We all waited for that new year night to bring in 2020 with a bang. There it was, arriving with the shine, making every one of us smile…but hey! Who knew at the beginning of 2020, we would be stuck inside our homes by March 2020?
Everything around has suddenly come to standstill. We don’t see cars on the road, no airplanes in the sky, no delivery boys rushing in and out from our societies, malls are shut…in short, the world has taken a pause. The competition around has slowed down, it looks like nature’s plan in
providing us with this break so that we can ‘LIVE’ a little. The earth seems like healing too, we see the pollution level dropping, birds are chirping…in short mother earth is healing. While there are lots of changes happening around us, I am sure we are slowly moving towards the boredom
as well. But, can we all agree on this that the only place that is secure right now is our home?
Like someone rightly said, “Home is where the heart is” said it correctly. No place in the world can give you comfort, like your home. It is such a privilege to be spending time at home, staying safe, and creating wonderful memories for yourself. While social distancing is definitely challenging, but this is your time to learn something new, adopting a new habit, giving away old habits, spending quality time with family and with self, cooking your favorite meals, watching your favorite movies/series which you missed watching.
Remember when we were stuck struggling between our jobs and routine, we all craved for this extra time for ourselves. To learn something or to do something that we loved doing…so why not utilize this quarantine period doing those things?
Of Course unlike all of us, even I was getting bored thinking about the situation of being stuck in the house…but I tried to change the game a little. I made a list of things I wanted to do in the long, slowly started working on them. So happy to see those DIY’s coming out so well, those recipes going hit, learning new dances on my favorite numbers…the list goes on.
Adding a few tips for enjoying the peaceful #quarantine
- Change your curtains/ bed sheets every week to add the change in look and creating fresh vibes for your room
- Shuffle furniture places to add new look alternately
- Indulge in some creative or DIY activity to add some new decor items for your home
- Get in touch with all those friends, family members you haven’t spoken to in months
- E learn or signup for courses you were always willing to learn
- Declutter your clothes, shoes and all those items which you no longer use
- Light mild fragrant candles/ diffusers to elevate your mood, reduce anxiety and promote peace of the body and mind
- Spend time cooking with your kids, family, also doing some craft activities
- Host a movie night for yourself or family, just like how you would enjoy at the theatre
- Do home gardening if you have extra pots and soil at home.
These are just a few ideas, there are many more such activities you can do to keep yourselves engaged. I just tried sharing a few which have been helping me keep myself engaged.
Remember this epidemic will be gone one day, but this time will never come back. This is our time to make better things, to make the best memories. Maybe we all needed this break because we all were so busy juggling between homes and offices, ignoring giving attention to ourselves and our passion.
So yes, let’s be thankful for our almighty that we are safe, just stuck getting bored and not
suffering the pain of the disease. This shall pass and everything around will get back to normal.
Let’s treat this #Quarntine period as a blessing to restart from where we left things halfway.
